Visiting Yangzheng Therapy (養正理療館): a conversation with founder Monica

From running the studio day to day to the strains of sitting and screens: a conversation about handing routine work to tools and keeping time for people.

What a shop visit shows

Today we visited Yangzheng Therapy (養正理療館) and spoke with its founder, Monica. The studio is laid out in a Chinese style — calligraphy on the wall, timber lattice screens, a mountain painting — and the treatment rooms are quiet and neat.

The front desk: bookings and client records on the table, with the treatment area screened off behind.

Monica shared how the studio runs day to day: how appointments are arranged, how client records are kept, how follow-ups are reminded — small but important details that decide how steady the customer experience feels. We also talked about what a small practice actually needs from digital tools: not a big system, but something that keeps the day organised and remembers regular clients.

A corner of the treatment room: neat linens and soft light — a space meant to calm you down.

We also talked about how modern life treats the body: long hours at a desk, eyes on screens, irregular hours — and the shoulders, neck and back eventually say something about it. Therapists hear this every day, and real improvement usually comes from daily habits working together, not from a single session.

Our observation: health, education and AI look unrelated, but the way of working is the same — hand the repetitive, routine preparation (booking, records, reminders, filing) to tools, and keep the time for professional judgement and for actually facing people. That is what we practise in our own business too.

Visiting small businesses teaches us what different trades really need. If you run a shop or studio, talk to us — and if you would like to know more about Yangzheng Therapy (養正理療館), contact us and we will pass it on.
